Selling your handmade products wholesale is quite satisfying and rewarding. You’re getting your products out there and your making more money by having a larger audience.
So let’s review how your retail sales experience has been. You sell to a customer, they are happy with their sale and they come back as a repeat customer. Awesome!
So now you are selling wholesale. You have a retailer purchasing volume of products from you. This is great! But don’t you want to have that especially awesome experience of them being a repeat customer?
What you don’t realize is that your business is a relationship business model.
Yep. Relationships. That’s the key to really maintaining your wholesale business. You work so hard to get those retail customers, so it only makes sense that you need to maintain those customers. Once you have enough wholesale customers you need to figure out a way to maintain those customers. After all, why would you want to keep looking for more when you already have some.
I’m not saying you should stop growing your customer base, but the maintenance of them will truly make all the difference. This is how you truly grow. This is where the magic happens.
So go out there and always work towards getting the new customer. But let’s not forget about maintaining your existing clients. They truly can be the bread and butter of your business.
